FAQs/Shipping

SHIPPING

Do you ship internationally?

Yes we do. The shipping cost is for packing and posting - packages may be subject to customs or duties upon arrival.

International packages will be sent by Royal Mail and can be sent as International Standard or International Tracked & Signed. Standard which while affordable, does not include tracking or delivery confirmation. Tracked & Signed will include a tracking number and a signature is required upon delivery. You can select which shipping method you would prefer at checkout.

Shipping times will vary upon location, time of year and your local postal service.

Customs/Duties/Fees

International packages may be subject to custom charges, tax fees etc. that are calculated by each country. The customer is responsible for paying any and all customs duties and fees. These packages may be delayed by customs; unfortunately Luna's Locket has no control over this.

How long will it take for my order to be dispatched?

Luna's Locket is a small, independent business. Due to this, please allow up to 7 days for your order to be dispatched. We will of course endeavour to send your order as soon as possible.

JEWELLERY

Are your stones natural or man-made?

I will only ever use natural stones in my jewellery designs.

What metals do you use in your jewellery?

I mainly use sterling silver and fine silver in my designs. I do on occasion use copper and brass for extra details.

Can I request a different length chain for my order?

I usually list pendants with chains that I think work best for that design. However, if you need a different length, please contact me before placing the order. I will then see if I can provide a shorter or longer chain for you. If there are any extra costs for a longer chain, I will let you know prior to purchase.

CUSTOM ORDERS

Do you take custom orders?

I welcome custom orders. I love working with my customers to create pieces they can cherish. If you would like to discuss a custom, please fill out the form on my website or send me an email. You can also contact me on Facebook or Instagram.

How long do custom orders take?

This can vary. Typically, I say to allow 6-8 weeks to create custom pieces. However in busy periods, for example, when I am preparing for fairs, this may take longer. I will always inform my customers of the current wait time when discussing their order.

How do payments work with custom orders?

I take a deposit for half of the cost upfront. The balance is then due once the piece has been created. I use paypal invoices for this process. It protects both myself and the customer and is a great way to keep track of everything. If you don't have a paypal account, you can pay the invoice using your card and your purchase is still protected.

CANDLES

What are your candles made from?

Luna’s Locket candles are made with natural and sustainable soy wax, 100% pure essential oils, phthalate-free fragrance oils and cotton wicks.

What is soy wax?

Soy wax is a vegetable wax made from the oil of soybeans. After harvesting, the beans are cleaned, cracked, de-hulled, and rolled into flakes. This material is eco-friendly as soy beans are easily grown and obtained.

Do you use sustainable soy wax?

Yes! Sustainability is very important to Luna's Locket. The wax used in all of our candle products is natural, sustainable, vegan friendly, biodegradable and made here in the UK.

What makes soy wax better than other waxes?

Soy wax has a lower melting point than traditional waxes, meaning your candle will burn for longer. You won’t have to wait long before the beautiful fragrances spread through the room, as soy also has a stronger scent throw.

As soy wax is natural, it doesn't emit toxins while burning. It is also biodegradable and water soluble, making spillages a lot easier to deal with.

What oils do you use to scent your candles?

Luna's Locket candles are made with carefully selected 100% pure essential oils and premium grade phthalate-free fragrance oils.

Some fragrances are naturally stronger than others - we try to produce candles with a great scent throw, but not all fragrance oils are created equally.

Do you have any tips to burning your candles?

★ Burn in intervals of 3-5 hours.
★ Trim the wick regularly (this won't affect the scent throw) - be careful not to trim it shorter than 1/4" otherwise your flame will drown in melted wax.
★ Keep your melt pool free from wax trimmings, matches etc.
★ If the flame gets too small, pour a little melted wax out.

Can the jar/container be reused?

Yes. When 1/4" of wax remains, please stop burning your candle. Once the melt pool has cooled down, simply wash out the container with hot soapy water. You are then free to use it for whatever you wish - a plant pot, tea light holder, or even a pen pot.
